Year 4 Remote Learning
Remote Learning 8th March 2021
The Department for Education (DfE) has made clear their expectation that from 8th March 2021, attendance at school will be mandatory for all pupils of compulsory school age. Where a class, group or small number of pupils needs to self-isolate, or a clinically vulnerable children needs to shield, unless they are physically unwell, these pupils should have access to remote education as soon as reasonably practicable, and must continue to learn at home.
More details regarding remote learning can be found in this policy: Remote Learning Policy - January 2021
Teachers will provide an initial remote learning pack which has key information on the expectations and the online providers for the first two days of absence. They will also provide a remote learning book for the pupil to record their learning in.
Within 48 hours of your child not being in school, your child’s teacher will contact you and provide a learning pack, together with any resources required to support the learning, for the remainder of the week. A 5-day learning pack will then be provided for each following week. Picture Assemblies will be uploaded to the school website on a weekly basis, and resources to support foundation subjects, such as PE activities, Music, French will be uploaded to year group pages as appropriate.
The learning time in a school day is between 4 ½ and 5 hours. When a child is learning at home with 1 to 1 support it may take less time to complete.
During your child’s absence from school, a member of the year group team will be in contact with you three times per week, via email or telephone, to discuss your child’s home learning. At least once a week they will want to talk to your child directly about their learning.
