Our school aims to meet its obligations under the public sector equality duty by having due regard to the need to:
- Eliminate discrimination and other conduct that is prohibited by the Equality Act 2010
- Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it
- Foster good relations across all characteristics – between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it

We are extremely proud to be a leading force for inclusion and diversity in education on the Island. Our policies and practice reflect our ethos and are embedded into all areas of our curriculum.
We are Stonewall School Champions, recognising our ongoing work to tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying. We also celebrate diversity with our annual Rainbow Mufti Day as part of our support for Isle of Wight Pride.
We have adopted the ‘No Outsiders’ scheme of work and resources which support our pupils to understand differences within society but with tolerance and acceptance. All our learning resources have been carefully selected to represent the diverse society we live in today and challenge stereotypical views.
