Broadlea Primary School is open to all pupils from Monday 8th March 2021. Please read the Welcome Back letter and Presentation carefully - they contain all the information that you need. See you soon!
To support you in talking to your child about coronavirus, and the measures taken to control it, we recommend this free digital resource - Coronavirus - A book for children about COVID-19 - a free information book explaining the coronavirus to children, illustrated by Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler. The book answers key questions in simple language appropriate for 5-to-9-year olds.
Broadlea Primary School
Together to Excellence
It is my privilege to welcome you to Broadlea Primary School and an honour to serve as the Headteacher. Our school is a place of fun, laughter and learning where everyone strives for excellence every day.
We aim to provide a rich and varied curriculum through our wonderful and unique learning environment, including Forest School, Science Lab, ICT Suite, Food Tech and Art rooms, Music room and extensive school grounds. Our school curriculum is designed to motivate and excite our children, as well as to provide them with the knowledge, skills and personal traits and dispositions they need to be fully equipped and empowered to embrace their future.
We encourage learning outside of the classroom through visits to places of interest and utilising our beautiful local area. Our Forest School natural, tree-enclosed environment offers all learners, from Reception to Year 6, regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences.
Broadlea Primary School has been recognised for excellence in science teaching. Our innovative and creative teaching, contribution to developing science in our school and across the Island, and engagement of pupils, has been endorsed through the Primary Science Teaching Trust (PSTT) Awards and the prestigious Gold Space Education Quality Mark.
We strive to be an inclusive school and are very proud of our children and staff: they are so supportive of one another; they confidently and openly talk about diversity; and they work hard every day to ensure that our school is a place where everyone feels valued and included. We are delighted to be a School Games Gold school, which recognises the range of clubs, activities and opportunities provided to all our pupils. We are also Stonewall School Champions recognising our ongoing work to tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying and celebrate diversity.
We are always striving to improve our partnership with parents and carers, and this team effort contributes to our children making great progress. We operate an open door policy and are open to new ideas and suggestions.
I hope that you find the information on our web page useful - please feel free to contact us should you have any queries.
