Friends of Broadlea
Welcome to the Friends of Broadlea
Friends of Broadlea (FOB) are the school PTA (Parents and Teachers Association). FOB was established with the aim of developing positive links between school, home and the wider community. We raise money for the school to assist in the purchase of equipment, and fund activities which help all our children with their education and learning during their time at Broadlea. We also help with the fun in school and work hard to make memories for the children.
The relatives of any of our pupils can become involved – mums, dads, grandparents, aunties and uncles – so if you would like to do a little (or a lot!) to help, please contact us via our Facebook page and someone will be in touch. There is no need for a regular commitment, any help no matter how small is always appreciated. If you have more time and want to become further involved, that is great as there is always work to be done.
You may be surprised to find out how you can help: do some shopping, design a poster, run an errand, wrap some prizes, sell some tickets, bake some cakes, make some props, source a raffle prize donation – there are lots of things that can help make our events more successful.
FOB meet for a couple of hours, as and when needed, to discuss plans for the next event. Dates are notified via our Facebook page. Come and join us, share some ideas, meet other parents, and enjoy some social time – everyone is welcome.
Information about all forthcoming events is also published on our Facebook page.
FOB continually organise social and fund-raising events during the school year, these include:
- Summer Fayre
- School Discos
- Christmas Fayre
- Movie Nights
- Bingo Nights
- Year 6 Prom
- Mufti/Non uniform Days
- Refreshments during Sports Day
These social and fund-raising events have enabled FOB to make a considerable donation towards the new minibus, fund the playground Smooga safety barriers, and purchase a fire pit for Forest School, books for all classrooms, play leader kits, History timeline, musical instruments and so much more!
